Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has confirmed that the minimum wage will rise to €500 starting January 1, 2026, applying to both the public and private sectors. The announcement was made during the latest episode of his podcast, “Flasim.”
Rama also outlined a long-term plan for pension increases, stating that pensions will double by January 2027, triple by January 2028, quadruple by January 2029, and quintuple by January 2030.
Addressing concerns over year-end bonuses for pensioners, Rama said the government has approved a special payment to end political and media misinformation suggesting that bonuses would either be distributed monthly next year or not at all this year. According to the plan:
- Pensioners with monthly pensions up to 20,000 Albanian lek will receive a €150 bonus.
- Pensioners with monthly pensions above 20,000 lek will receive a €100 bonus.
“These measures mark the fulfillment of our commitments and aim to provide direct support to pensioners and workers in Albania,” Rama emphasized.
