Albanian students and university lecturers marched from the Polytechnic University toward the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday, removing chairs that Prime Minister Edi Rama had symbolically placed outside the government building in an attempt to initiate dialogue.

The students rejected the invitation for the second consecutive day, breaking and removing the chairs set up by Rama as a gesture intended to encourage talks.

Earlier, the students had hung a large banner on the exterior wall of the university, conveying messages reflecting their anger and demands.

According to footage from the scene, the banner featured slogans including “Long Live Free Youth,” “Today We Decide,” and “The End of Katovica.”

The latest protest highlights the continued standoff between the students and the prime minister, as the young demonstrators remain unwilling to engage in the proposed dialogue.
