Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, participating in the Munich Security Conference, highlighted the country’s role as a pillar of stability, democracy, and security in the Balkans.

Kurti explained to RTK that he is engaging with European and global officials to showcase Kosovo’s achievements, future plans, and regional contributions. He also focused on the conference theme this year, titled “Destruction”, analyzing the impacts of the Russian aggression in Ukraine and global security threats.

Investments in Security and Regional Cooperation

Kurti emphasized that Kosovo faces no internal security threats capable of destabilizing the country, but acknowledges challenges from northern neighbors. In response, significant investments are being made in both police and military capacities, in collaboration with European partners, to strengthen capabilities and safeguard the nation.

“We are investing heavily in our police and army with democratic Western partners to enhance our capacities, skills, and presence so that no one dares to challenge Kosovo,” Kurti stated.

He highlighted that these efforts and international collaborations are making Kosovo a reference point for stability and security in the region.

International Partnerships and Economic Support

During his interview, Kurti also praised the Kosovo Assembly for approving over one billion euros in international agreements, facilitated by the Central Bank of Kosovo and the European Council.

Kosovo’s delegation to the conference includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca and Defense Minister Ejup Maqedoncin, reflecting the country’s commitment to active international engagement in security and diplomacy.
