LVV deputy Ilir Kërçeli stated that the continued failure to constitute the Kosovo Assembly is due to the lack of constructiveness from opposition parties.

Speaking on the show Ditari on tëvë1, Kërçeli revealed that votes for Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Assembly are expected to come from the Democratic NISMA party, as an agreement between LVV and NISMA is close.

“There is a lack of constructiveness from opposition parties who are refusing to constitute the Assembly and to vote for LVV’s candidate Albulena Haxhiu. I believe votes will be secured with NISMA, and an agreement is near. I think the government will be formed soon,” he said.

Kërçeli further suggested that opposition parties fear early elections, which would follow if the political stalemate continues.

He also noted that some opposition MPs have expressed willingness to vote for the Kurti III Government once the Assembly Speaker vote is completed.

“Some opposition MPs have said they’ll support the Kurti government after Haxhiu’s vote. That will be seen soon. We’re also ready to call on the Serb List to leave the chamber when the secret vote takes place,” he added.

This Friday marked the 20th failed attempt to constitute the Kosovo Assembly.
