Ali Ahmeti, one of the founders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK), called for national unity in defense of the values of the war and the UÇK, emphasizing that “the freedom of Kosovo must not be turned into an arena for individual or partisan politics.”

During the “Justice for the Liberators” rally held Friday in Tirana, Ahmeti said:

“Let us always remain united—Tirana, Prishtina, and Skopje. We raise our voice for justice, respect, our just struggle, freedom, democracy, independence, and friendship with the U.S. and Europe.”

He recalled that the origins of the Special Court are tied to “false Russian-Serbian allegations of organ trafficking”, which, according to him, were later dismissed by the Hague Tribunal.

Ahmeti explained:

“Dick Marty revived this issue under Russian-Serbian orders and initiated a report in the Council of Europe, which later forced the establishment of the Special Court. This court was created by Kosovo itself to prevent Serbia from establishing it through Russia.”

He added that after the organ trafficking allegations were dismissed, the prosecution shifted focus “on the very day the mutual recognition agreement between Kosovo and Serbia was being signed in Washington.”

Ahmeti underlined that the Kosovo Liberation Army respected all international conventions of war and did not violate the laws of war.

“The freedom of Hashim, Kadri, Rexhep, Jakup, and the others is long overdue and must come immediately,” he stressed.

Finally, he urged Albanian political forces to avoid divisions and preserve national unity:

“The freedom of Kosovo is not an arena for individual, partisan, or electoral politics. It is not fertile ground for divisions among Albanians. We must unite, as we did for the Republic of Kosovo. Some, unknowingly, are serving the policies of Belgrade and Moscow.”
