American soldiers assigned to the KFOR Regional Command East have conducted training for weapon qualification with M240 and M249 machine guns at the Bobaj Bokes training range, located in the municipality of Gjakova, as announced by NATO’s peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.

“Training and qualification of soldiers on various weapon systems is essential for the overall readiness of KFOR troops,” the announcement stated.

KFOR further emphasized that these efforts are “part of their daily mission to ensure a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo.”

KFOR also reminded that they continue to carry out their mandate to contribute to a secure and peaceful environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, as well as for freedom of movement, at all times and impartially.

Additionally, KFOR highlighted that it works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as responsible for security.
