European Union warnings about tightening measures against Kosovo if unilateral and uncoordinated actions are taken are, according to Professor Mazllum Baraliu, unjust.

Baraliu believes that the EU is treating Kosovo with dictatorial methods.

“We should be relaxing relations, and they should be acting only as diplomatic representatives in a sovereign and independent country with all the rights and powers granted by international law to Kosovo. They should respect Kosovo’s positive actions, positions, and decisions in the spirit of law, justice, and rule of law. They should implement the agreements that the European Union and the International Community have supported through their mediation between Kosovo and Serbia,” said Professor Mazllum Baraliu, a political analyst, to RTK.

The government responded to the EU through its spokesperson, stating that measures are not a solution.

“On the other hand, the question arises, what measures has the EU taken against Serbia, which, after the terrorist and paramilitary attack, declared a national day of mourning for the three terrorists killed in Banjskë, whose leader, Milan Radoiçic, is sheltering and financing?” said Përparim Kryeziu.

Baraliu emphasizes that the EU cannot treat Kosovo as if it were a state it does not recognize.

“On what basis? They have no right because we are not members. They have the right to take action against Hungary, for example, but they are not doing it, which openly has gone out of hand, from EU policies and is flirting with Russia and others like China and tolerating them,” he stressed.

Security analyst Arben Dashevci stated that there are no better conditions for opening the Ibar Bridge in terms of security.

“Private security is fulfilled, individual security is fulfilled, public security is in place to meet the conditions, and national security, which is for everyone, is jointly fulfilled with collective security, meaning NATO and 33 countries care for this republic and this bridge to prevent escalation… Those who attacked the Republic of Kosovo are no longer in the Republic of Kosovo,” Dashevci declared.

Regarding the EU’s statements about the government’s actions to open the bridge for vehicle traffic, Dashevci said the government needs to find a way to coordinate so as not to create diplomatic problems with allies.
