Around 2,000 gold and silver coins, worth approximately €90,000, have been stolen from yet another museum in France — just hours after the major heist at the Louvre in Paris.

According to BBC, the theft occurred at a museum dedicated to French philosopher Denis Diderot in the town of Langres on Sunday.

When the Maison des Lumières museum opened on Tuesday, staff discovered a broken safe and immediately raised the alarm.

This latest incident adds to a wave of cultural institution robberies that has shaken France in recent weeks.

Just last Sunday morning, a four-person gang broke into the world-renowned Louvre Museum, stealing eight priceless jewels, including a diamond and emerald necklace once gifted by Emperor Napoleon to his wife — with an estimated value of €90 million.
