Inspectors from the Municipality of North Mitrovica, assisted by the Kosovo Police, have reclaimed a municipal building in the city that was previously used by Serbia’s parallel structures.
The building in question housed the so-called “National Employment Service,” which operated with official support from Belgrade.
The news was confirmed by the Deputy Director of Police for the northern region, Veton Elshani, who stated that during entry into the building, unlawful evidence was found and seized by the prosecution for further investigation. No arrests were made in this case.
“Today we assisted the municipal inspectors in entering a building they consider to be under their ownership. Upon entering, we encountered evidence that we consider illegal and potentially constitutes a criminal offense. After contacting the on-duty prosecutor, the building was sealed, and it was decided that the evidence would be handed over to the prosecutor to determine further steps. No individuals were arrested,” Elshani stated.
