Serbs who do not hold documents from the Republic of Kosovo but live in Kosovo can now apply to obtain Kosovar documents based on their Serbian documents, such as ID cards, birth, marriage, and death certificates.

Mayors of Serb-majority municipalities, together with their municipal teams, will work to ensure that this process runs smoothly so that all eligible citizens can exercise their rights by June 16.

Earlier, the Serb List clarified that individuals working in health and education institutions at all levels, but who do not reside in Kosovo, will submit their information through their institutions, thus obtaining the right to stay in Kosovo for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

The same procedure applies to students who do not reside in Kosovo but study at the Serbian university referred to as the “University of Pristina with Temporary Seat in Mitrovica, Kosovo.”

The outgoing EU Ambassador to Kosovo, Aivo Orav, in a farewell interview with a Serbian-language media group, previously noted that March 14 could enter history as an important date in relations between the Kosovo Government and the EU, while warning that the main challenge remains the full implementation of the agreement.
