The Post of Kosovo, through its Philately department, has today issued a new postage stamp series titled “Bronze Boar.”

The new stamp series highlights our archaeological heritage, reflecting the culture and economic development of our ancestors.

The stamp features an image of the seated bronze boar, showcasing a rare and unique archaeological find.

The bronze figure of the seated boar, dating back to the 6th century BC according to written sources, was discovered by chance in 1939 in Jaglenicë, a peripheral neighborhood of Prizren. This figure measures 6.5 cm in length and approximately 3 cm in width, weighing 380 grams.

The figure of the seated boar is currently on display at the Vranje Museum, according to the Post of Kosovo.

Also part of this postage stamp series is the “First Day Cover,” which will be in circulation until fully consumed.
