Lawyer Arianit Koci has announced he will intensify his protest regarding the non-functionality of the Kosovo Assembly.
In a Facebook post, Koci stated he will remain outside the Kosovo Assembly building from Monday, June 9, until Friday, including overnight stays, leaving only for unavoidable court hearings or professional commitments related to client legal defense.
His full post reads:
“🟥 Protest continues On Monday, June 9, 2025, at 10:45 AM, I will continue my protest in front of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. My stay will be uninterrupted throughout the week – day and night (sleeping in front of the Assembly) – until Friday, after the session concludes. I will only leave for court hearings or unavoidable professional commitments related to the legal defense of clients. This exception does not diminish the protest – on the contrary, it clarifies the distinction between fulfilling responsibilities and institutional inaction. ⸻ The demand is singular and clear: Functionalization of the Assembly. The delay is no longer a political issue. It is a form of institutional paralysis that is harming citizen trust, the economy, and the functioning of the state. The state is being destroyed! ⸻
🟩 Media are invited to follow this public protest – which represents no personal or partisan interest, but is a call for responsibility and institutional action. P.S. This week features one of the most important trials in post-war Kosovo: the trial of individuals accused of the terrorist attack in Banjska, where the hero police officer Afrim Bunjaku was killed in the line of duty, defending Kosovo’s territorial integrity. I am the representative of the family of the late Sergeant Bunjaku! Please share!”
