Albanian national team forward Armando Broja suffered a serious injury during Everton’s FA Cup match against Peterborough, raising concerns over his recovery and return to action.
In the 82nd minute of the match, Broja was injured after a mishap by a Peterborough defender, leading to swift intervention from Everton’s medical team. The player was seen leaving the pitch, and an oxygen mask was briefly administered to him.
Everton’s coach shared his concern post-match: “It certainly looked bad. We saw him being taken off the pitch and weren’t sure if he was going to the hospital. He hasn’t gone for now, but we’re unsure about the extent of the injury. The fact that he hasn’t gone immediately to the hospital, we hope that’s a good sign.”
Broja is set to undergo an X-ray to assess the severity of the injury. Early reports suggest it could be an ankle injury, which typically requires 2-6 weeks for recovery. However, if a ligament is damaged, surgery might be required, extending the recovery time to 8-12 weeks.
