Armed Attackers Enter Rehabilitation Clinic, Nine Dead in Sinaloa

At least nine people were killed and five others injured on Monday in an armed attack on a drug rehabilitation clinic in the northwestern state of Sinaloa, Mexico, local authorities reported.

The armed assailants attacked the clinic early on Monday morning in the municipality of Culiacán, located in northwestern Mexico’s Sinaloa state, according to the local public security secretariat.

Masked assailants, armed with high-powered rifles, forced open the clinic’s gate and opened fire on both patients and staff.

Local police arrived at the scene after several calls to the emergency line 911, where they confirmed the casualties and injuries.

Eight people died at the scene, and one injured victim later succumbed to their wounds after being urgently transported to the hospital, police said.
