Records from the Integrated Border Management System indicate that around 500,000 entries of Kosovo citizens have been registered through land and air border crossings. At the same time, an increased flow has been observed at Prishtina International Airport.

Based on official Police data, derived from the Integrated Border Management System and reports from relevant regions, approximately 500,000 entries of Kosovo citizens were recorded over the past week through land and air border checkpoints.

Officials for public information at “Adem Jashari” International Airport in Prishtina stated that year-end holidays are bringing many compatriots back home, while air routes connecting Kosovo with EU countries continue to expand, facilitating freer and more efficient movement for citizens.

The peak of arrivals occurred over the weekend, and compared to last year, an 8% increase in air travel has been recorded.

“From December 1 until now, we have processed around 270,000 passengers. Looking at the total number of travelers for 2025, we see a continuous growth trend, with about 8% more passengers compared to 2024,”
said Valentina Gara, Public Relations Officer at Prishtina International Airport.

The airport has also implemented technological upgrades to improve services.

“New services enabled through digitalization and technological advancements allow passengers to complete their procedures, including baggage check-in, without long waiting times,” Gara added.

Investments in modern technology, increased staffing, and new international routes are helping to save time and strengthen ties between the diaspora and the homeland, while supporting the free movement of citizens.
