16 individuals, separated into four vehicles with license plates from Kragujevac, Serbia, were arrested on Saturday and Sunday in Gjakova and Prizren. This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, who stated that four of them were active officers of the Serbian security services.

Sveçla posted on Facebook that, according to initial data, it is suspected that these groups aimed to gather information about possible targets, as evidence of their connections with Serbian military intelligence structures and members of the Banja terrorist group were found.

“The first group, consisting of four people, was detained in Gjakova. During the vehicle search, photographs were found of the map of the Republic of Kosovo, photos of terrorists killed during the Banja attack, two knives, a machete, and a rotating light. By decision of the prosecutor, the individuals were detained for 48 hours.”

“The second group, with 12 people, was detained in Prizren, where they were hiding in the Orthodox Seminary of Bogosllavia. This group also included two active officers of the Serbian security services.”

He revealed that one of the arrested individuals is close to the main suspect for the murder of Kosovo police lieutenant Afrim Bunjaku.

“Preliminary investigations have confirmed that a Serbian police official with the rank of police sergeant has close family ties with a member of the Banja terrorist group, Nemanja Radivojevic, nickname ‘Gandi.’ The latter is closely related to Vladimir Radivojevic, nickname ‘Mami,’ who is the main suspect for the murder of Kosovo police lieutenant Afrim Bunjaku. Another military officer, who holds the rank of first-class captain, is connected to the former Serbian military intelligence general, Jovan Milanovic, known for his involvement in the leak of NATO data before the bombings of Serbian targets.”

“The fact that they sought shelter in the Orthodox Seminary of Bogosllavia could indicate an attempt to exploit religious institutions for camouflage or to cause interethnic/religious tensions in Kosovo, using fabricated events to provoke violent reactions or riots.”

“Security agencies will continue the investigations and will inform the public about further developments. We urge citizens to report any suspicious activity and to cooperate closely with our security institutions,” Sveçla said.

Meanwhile, at the request of the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, a meeting of the Security Council was held yesterday, after which the case of the arrest of four Serbs in Gjakova was mentioned.

After discussing the security situation in the country and “destabilizing plans and criminal interventions by Serbia,” and mentioning the case in Gjakova, it was emphasized that high attention and readiness were required from state institutions and mechanisms.

“When we add to this the arrest of the four ‘pilgrims’ in Gjakova yesterday – one of whom was a sergeant of the Serbian police and the other a captain of the Serbian army, and everything that was confiscated from them – it is required that all institutions and mechanisms of the state maintain high attention and readiness,” the statement said.

It should be noted that of the 12 Serbs arrested in Prizren, 10 of them were released, while two were detained for presenting themselves falsely as members of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).

This was reported by the spokesperson of the Police for the Prizren region, Vesel Gashi, who informed that the case was uncovered after operational-investigative actions carried out by the investigative sector in Prizren.

TV1 has obtained the names and documents of the four detainees, as well as the card of one of the arrested Serbian police officers.

The detainees are: Branko Rakic, residing in North Mitrovica, Nemanja Vamokiç, a police sergeant residing in Novi Sad, Pavle Kragoviç, residing in Belgrade, and Millovan Steviq, a captain and agent of the Serbian army, residing in North Mitrovica.
