State Attorney Nexhmije Karaqi has been arrested as part of a large-scale police operation targeting abuse of official duty and corruption in the expropriation process.
Her arrest is part of a broader action that also involves other high-ranking institutional officials, Rks News reports.
Regarding this operation, Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, stated that the action was successfully carried out by the Kosovo Police in cooperation with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI) and other relevant institutions.
According to Sveçla, the arrests came after a months-long investigation during which strong evidence of abuses and corrupt actions related to the expropriation of private property was collected.
He emphasized that this operation represents an important step in the fight against corruption and abuse of official duty.
