The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an arrest warrant for Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, along with Prime Minister Radovan Višković and National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić. The three officials failed to appear in court regarding charges of undermining the constitutional order.

Legal Actions and Political Reactions

Following the court’s decision to place the three officials in pretrial detention, authorities declared them fugitives. Bosnian Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković affirmed support for judicial institutions, calling for a calm and persistent legal process to ensure their arrests. However, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) previously refused to act on the arrest order, citing security risks.

In response, Republika Srpska has initiated the creation of a separate border police unit, a move critics argue violates the Dayton Peace Agreement. Additionally, RS authorities have proposed legislation to establish an independent agency for medical supplies, challenging the authority of Bosnia’s national institutions.

Regional and International Implications

While speculation circulates about Dodik possibly traveling to Moscow, no official confirmation has been made. Meanwhile, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić continues to express support for Republika Srpska, vowing to discuss the issue with European leaders. The situation remains tense, with political and security implications for Bosnia and the broader Balkan region.
