Russia carried out major drone and missile strikes on Ukraine, killing at least six people, including two children, authorities reported Wednesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for increased pressure on the Kremlin during his trip to Sweden, where he is expected to request more defensive weapons amid stalled peace efforts.

Zelensky described the Russian attacks as “evil,” targeting energy and civilian infrastructure in at least ten regions of Ukraine, including the capital, Kyiv.

“Another night proving that Russia still does not feel enough pressure to end the war… Russia’s words on diplomacy mean nothing as long as its leadership does not feel critical problems,” he wrote on X.

Zelensky, traveling to Sweden to discuss defense cooperation between the two countries, reiterated that long-range weapons for Ukraine could change the course of the nearly four-year war.

Earlier, Ukraine indicated that the U.S. administration’s decision not to approve the delivery of Tomahawk missiles had weakened its diplomatic position.

As the Ukrainian president left Kyiv early in the morning, the State Emergency Service reported that three people, including two children, were killed in the region.
