Austria Expresses Readiness to Deepen Cooperation with the Government of Kosovo

Continuing discussions from a previous meeting with Ambassador Schnetzer regarding interest in collaboration with Austrian companies, the Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, held a meeting with representatives of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber to explore concrete steps in this direction.

In this context, Murati today hosted a meeting with the President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Georg Knill, the Director for Markets and International Relations in this chamber, Igor Sekardi, and the Austrian Ambassador to Kosovo, Georg Schnetzer.

During the meeting, Murati presented some of the government policies that have influenced the increase in employment of women and youth, including wage subsidies through the Superpuna platform, scholarships for women in STEM fields, and training for young people in technology and innovation. Besides the skilled workforce, Murati highlighted the mining and metal processing sectors as well as favorable tax rates as advantages of Kosovo that make it an attractive place for investment.

On his part, President Knill expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation with the Government of Kosovo, appreciating the economic potential and numerous opportunities that Kosovo offers to foreign investors.
