The Executive Director of the Food and Veterinary Agency of Kosovo (AUV), Bekim Hoxha, received the Ambassador of Hungary to Kosovo, Laszlo Istvan DUX, in a meeting focused on strengthening institutional cooperation between the two countries in the fields of food safety and veterinary services.
Director Hoxha welcomed the Ambassador and expressed gratitude for Hungary’s continued support in reinforcing ties between the institutions of both states, particularly in areas of vital importance to public health in Kosovo.
During the discussion, Hoxha informed the Ambassador about AUV’s initiative to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Food and Veterinary Agency of Kosovo and its Hungarian counterpart. This agreement aims to enhance technical and institutional cooperation, especially in the supervision of food safety and the import of livestock.
Hoxha emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration in the dairy production sector and in strengthening laboratory capacities to meet European Union standards for food safety and quality control.
Ambassador DUX welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed Hungary’s readiness to support Kosovo in advancing this cooperation. He highlighted that the food and veterinary sector is highly sensitive, as it directly impacts the health and well-being of citizens, making joint commitment essential.
The meeting concluded with both sides pledging to intensify cooperation and work toward fulfilling shared objectives in the areas of food security and animal health.
