Former Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has officially announced his candidacy for the leadership of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), following the resignation of party leader Lumir Abdixhiku.

In a statement shared on Facebook, Hoti said he will seek the confidence of LDK members on January 31, 2026, pledging a comprehensive revival and restructuring of the party.

Hoti emphasized his commitment to building an open, fair, and competitive LDK, where meritocracy and intergenerational cooperation will be central pillars of the party’s future.

He also underlined the importance of strengthening LDK’s core values, assuring party supporters that LDK will return as Kosovo’s leading governing alternative.

“This is the time for a new beginning and the full revival of our party, together with all its structures and members,” Hoti stated.
