Security expert Avni Islami has reacted strongly to recent statements made by Serbian official Petar Petković, accusing him of trying to portray himself as a victim while shielding organized crime structures in northern Kosovo.

According to Islami, the facility that was publicly presented as a center for children and first-aid training was in fact guarded by former members of the so-called “Civil Protection” and individuals connected to criminal networks operating in the north.

“Kosovo’s institutions acted correctly. That building was just a facade for darker purposes,” stated Islami.

Use of Children and Humanitarian Symbols as Propaganda

Islami strongly condemned the use of children and the Red Cross in what he described as a propaganda effort to mask illegal activities.

“Using humanitarian symbols and minors to shield criminal operations is completely unacceptable,” he said.

He emphasized that Kosovo’s security will not be compromised for the sake of criminal interests disguised as humanitarian work.
