Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the decision of the Commonwealth of Bahamas, making it the fourth country this year and the 121st globally to recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state..
In a post on Facebook, Kurti described 2025 as the year of new recognitions, following Kosovo’s international strides in recent years.
“Congratulations to all citizens and special thanks to our President Vjosa Osmani, state officials, and partners for another achievement in strengthening our international standing,” Kurti wrote.

“2024 was the year of our passport. 2025 is the year of new recognitions after a long time. Bahamas becomes the fourth country this year and the 121st to recognize the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.
