Hykmete Bajrami, Vice President and MP of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), spoke ahead of today’s crucial meeting between President Vjosa Osmani and party leaders. Bajrami welcomed the gathering as a positive step toward resolving Kosovo’s political deadlock.
She revealed that LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku will present a detailed proposal for a transitional government, aiming to demonstrate why this solution is the best possible path forward.
“We are awaiting the meeting to see the outcome. The chairman will present the idea with more details and argue why we consider this the best solution,” Bajrami told Reporteri.net.
Bajrami emphasized that if consensus is reached, further talks will focus on the timeframe and priority agenda for the transitional period.
Importantly, she clarified that the proposal does not involve division of political positions or portfolios. LDK has not set conditions or demanded ministries, nor has it pressured its deputies on voting directives. The party’s stance enjoys unanimous support from its parliamentary members.
“There has never been pressure on LDK deputies to vote in a specific way. This is simply the party’s position, supported by all its deputies,” Bajrami said.
The upcoming meeting is seen as a critical opportunity to break Kosovo’s political impasse by fostering dialogue and presenting practical, shared solutions.
