PRISHTINA, July 13, 2025 — Hykmete Bajrami, Member of Parliament from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), met today with Brendan Hanrahan, Senior Official of the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, at the U.S. Embassy in Prishtina.
In the meeting, Bajrami expressed her deep appreciation for the United States’ continued support for Kosovo, both historically and in its ongoing path toward Euro-Atlantic integration.
“I was honored to meet with Mr. Brendan Hanrahan at the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo on behalf of LDK. I thanked him for the unwavering support of the United States — in our darkest moments and in strengthening Kosovo on its Euro-Atlantic journey,” Bajrami said.
Bajrami also raised concerns over the deep institutional crisis currently paralyzing Kosovo’s political system. She emphasized LDK’s position that the country needs an inclusive, constitutional, and democratic solution — not unilateral attempts by a single party without a majority.
“LDK stands firmly on the side of solutions that strengthen institutions, preserve democracy, and, above all, serve the national interest,” she stated.
During the discussion, Bajrami shared LDK’s proposal for a transitional government to overcome the current political deadlock and restore institutional normalcy ahead of the 2026 presidential elections. She also expressed openness to discussing other inclusive models that could restore stability.
“LDK remains fully committed to the Euro-Atlantic path and to strengthening the strategic partnership with the United States of America,” Bajrami concluded.
