The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) today presented the 25th edition of the Balkan Barometer, the regional public opinion survey that the organization has conducted for 11 years.

The Secretary General, Amer Kapetanović, said that this year’s results bring “very encouraging trends,” especially a renewed trust in the European Union.

Responding to a question from Telegrafi journalist Jehona Hulaj, Kapetanović emphasized that the citizens of Kosovo continue to be among the most pro-European in the region and fully oriented toward regional cooperation.

“When we speak about Kosovo, I think it is predominantly pro-European, with a very high margin,” Kapetanović stated.

He also highlighted that perceptions related to security and trust in institutions in Kosovo are “slightly higher compared to the rest of the region,” describing the overall situation as positive.

During the presentation of the 25th edition of the Balkan Barometer, Kapetanović underlined the region-wide rise in public trust toward the European Union.

“Last year it was 54%, now it is 64%, the highest level in the last 10 years.”
He added that while this positive trend is not equal across all countries, it remains clear at the regional level.

Kapetanović also stressed the role of youth, noting a strong orientation toward Europe and cooperation.

“77% of young people are clearly pro-European and want to see concrete benefits from regional cooperation.”

Despite these positive developments, he warned that trust is “very fragile” and must be upheld through tangible results that improve citizens’ lives, freedom of movement, and working conditions.
