The accused in the “Banjska” case will appear before the Basic Court of Pristina again today. During the session on April 9, the three accused pleaded not guilty.

Previously, two Kosovo Police officers, Alban Rashiti, who was wounded in the September 24 attack in Banjska, Zvečan, and police official Çlirim Shaqiri, who also sustained injuries at the time, provided their testimonies.

In today’s session, two other injured individuals, Mirsad Kryeziu and Sedat Dushi, are expected to testify.

Currently, Blagoje Spasojević, Vladimir Tolić, and Dušan Maksimović remain arrested and in custody for this case.

Indictment Details and International Arrest Warrants

The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK) filed an indictment on September 11, 2024, against Milan Radoičić and 44 others for the terrorist attack of September 24, 2023, in Banjska, Zvečan. The accused are charged with attempting to separate the northern part of the Republic of Kosovo’s territory and annex it to the Republic of Serbia through the use of heavy weaponry and violence. This resulted in the death of police officer Afrim Bunjaku and endangered the lives of other police officers and the civilian population.

Milan Radoičić, identified as the head of this structured terrorist group, is further accused of indirectly acquiring income from 2017 until September 24, 2023, and converting these funds into immovable and movable assets. He allegedly transferred a portion of these immovable assets to third parties to hide or disguise the source of the wealth.

The 45 accused are charged with the criminal offenses of “Committing a terrorist act,” “Serious acts against the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Kosovo,” “Facilitating and financing the commission of terrorism,” and “Money laundering.”

Last month, the Basic Court of Pristina announced that it had issued international arrest warrants for the 42 other accused in the “Banjska” case who are at large. These warrants aim to ensure the presence of these defendants in the proceedings, with their arrest and extradition expected for the development of criminal proceedings against them.
