Real Madrid scored an early goal in the fifth minute, but were then overwhelmed by Barcelona.

On Sunday night in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Barça won 5-2 in the final of the Spanish Super Cup. The Catalan team claimed their 15th Super Cup title, while Real Madrid remains with 13 trophies in the competition.

Madrid won 4-1 last year, but Barcelona got their revenge on Sunday evening.

The German coach Hansi Flick’s side started the match well, creating some good chances early on. However, it was Madrid who took the lead with a goal from Kylian Mbappe in the fifth minute.

This did not change the course of the game, as Barcelona continued to press. They equalized 1-1 in the 22nd minute thanks to a brilliant goal from young talent Lamine Yamal. Robert Lewandowski then gave Barça a 2-1 lead in the 36th minute, converting from the penalty spot.

Before halftime, Barcelona added more goals. Raphinha scored the third goal in the 39th minute, and assisted Alejandro Balde, who scored the fourth goal in the 10th minute of stoppage time.

It was clear that the outcome was all but decided when Raphinha scored the fifth goal in the 48th minute, making it 5-1.

In the 56th minute, Barcelona’s goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was sent off with a red card for an illegal intervention outside the box against Mbappe. In the subsequent free-kick, Rodrygo scored a spectacular goal for Real Madrid, making it 5-2 in the 60th minute.

Despite Madrid’s efforts to respond, the score remained unchanged.

The match was played in a beautiful atmosphere, filled with beautiful goals and exciting moments.
