The commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduni, met today in Pristina with the head of the EU Rule of Law Mission (EULEX), Major General Giovanni Pietro Barbano.
They exchanged views on various topics, including KFOR’s activities, its cooperation with the EU Rule of Law Mission, and ongoing security efforts to support the EU-facilitated dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.
“KFOR continues to fulfill its mandate—based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999—to provide a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo and to ensure freedom of movement at all times and in an impartial manner,” it was stated.
KFOR acts as the third security responder, following the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law Mission, with which it works in close coordination.
