The Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Dimal Basha, welcomed the Ambassador of Turkey to Kosovo, Sabri Tunç Angılı, and Deputy Ambassador Şeyda Çimeli Aydın in a meeting.

During the meeting, Basha informed Ambassador Angılı about the latest developments in the Assembly of Kosovo, specifically regarding its constitution. Speaker Basha emphasized his commitment to closely cooperating with all communities in Kosovo, ensuring that their rights are respected and protected in accordance with the highest standards provided by Kosovo’s legislation. He also stressed that the Assembly will work to address the needs of all communities through the legislative agenda of this mandate.

Another key topic of discussion was the position of the Albanian diaspora in Turkey, which was recognized as an added value and an important factor in strengthening ties between the two states. The Albanian diaspora has contributed significantly to the development of cultural and economic relations, creating a strong bridge between the two peoples.

Basha thanked Angılı for Turkey’s continued support and close cooperation, particularly in the field of defense, considering it an important step for strengthening relations between the two states and for regional stability in the Western Balkans.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Turkish ambassador handed Basha a congratulatory letter from the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş.

In his message, Kurtulmuş conveyed “best wishes to the brotherly people of Kosovo for peace and prosperity, along with wishes of success and health for the honorable members of the Assembly of Kosovo.”

At the end of the meeting, Basha thanked the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament for his greetings, and together with Ambassador Angılı, agreed on the need to continue cooperation between Kosovo and Turkey at an even higher level, as well as to strengthen parliamentary relations through the establishment of friendship groups as soon as possible.

Committees, parliamentary groups, and friendship groups are expected to play a crucial role in deepening these relations, enabling stronger communication and cooperation between the two countries.
