Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Dimal Basha, has announced that the Assembly of Kosovo is now fully constituted following the election of Nenad Rašić as Deputy Speaker representing the Serbian community.
In a statement shared on his official profile, Basha said that with this decision, the Assembly now has a complete leadership structure, thanking all MPs who contributed to finalizing the constitutional process.
Basha had previously declared the Assembly constituted weeks earlier, even though the fifth deputy speaker — Rašić — had not been elected at that time. However, the Constitutional Court later ruled that the Assembly was not yet fully constituted, leading to today’s special constitutive session.
In his public statement, Basha wrote:
“Dear citizens,
I am pleased to inform you that today, with 71 votes in favor, the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo elected MP Nenad Rašić as Deputy Speaker from the Serbian community, and with this decision, the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo is now fully constituted.
After a long period, the Presidency of the Assembly is now complete in full composition, as stipulated by the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly.
I thank all Members of Parliament who, with their votes, made possible the full constitution of the Assembly in the ninth legislature.”
