The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Dimal Basha, has called on the international community to exert pressure on Serbia to hand over the Serbian criminals who carried out the attack in Banjska, Zvečan, where Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed.
He made this appeal during the commemorative academy marking the second anniversary of the fall of hero Afrim Bunjaku.
“Today we honor the heroism of one of the most devoted sons of our republic, our hero Afrim Bunjaku. Through his sublime act, he became both testimony and guarantee of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo. Alongside his fellow police officers, two years ago and ever since, he proved that the defense of the republic is not only a professional duty but a commitment and oath to uphold the foundations of our Constitution so that Kosovo remains forever an independent, sovereign, unique, and indivisible state.
The terrorist act two years ago, which took the life of Sergeant Bunjaku, was sponsored, financed, and carried out by the Serbian state itself. Thanks to the heroism and patriotism of our police officers, who defended our territory and foiled Serbia’s plan, Serbia then became a safe haven for the executors of this act, proving that it continues to sustain a destabilizing and hostile policy toward our state,” he declared.
