Veteran associations of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) organized a grand welcome for the return from The Hague of the former Deputy Commander of the KLA General Staff, Sokol Bashota.

In his speech, Bashota thanked all the hosts and stated that the KLA fighters will come out with their heads held high, just like himself.

Bashota added that the KLA does not need defending in The Hague because it is defended by the sacrifice of our country.

“I was in The Hague for 18 days. Five years ago, when I went there as a suspect, I said: ‘The Kosovo Liberation Army does not need defending there; it is defended by a just war, by a just cause, by the sacrifice for this country. We have simply served justice, and there is no need for anything more, not only here but anywhere. We just need to speak the truth. And the conclusion will be the same for all of us, just like for me. Personally, it’s not that I’m not brave because the investigations against me have stopped, but what pleases me more is that once again, those martyrs prove that the war of the Kosovo Liberation Army was clean,'” said Bashota.

“We will always defend this holy war, history cannot be rewritten, it has been written with the blood of Adem Jashari, Krasniqi, and many other fighters. We will come out with our heads held high,” he added.
