The polling stations have officially closed for the parliamentary elections on February 9th in Kosovo.

After the closure, the EXIT POLL conducted by journalist Baton Haxhiu has published the preliminary results of these elections.

According to the survey, LVV (Self-Determination Movement) is in the lead with 37.45%, PDK (Democratic Party of Kosovo) is second with 23.7%, and LDK (Democratic League of Kosovo) is third with 20%. AAK (Alliance for the Future of Kosovo) has 8%.

If translated into seats, this means that VV will have 42 seats in the Assembly, PDK 26, LDK 23, and AAK 9 seats.

Haxhiu stated that the margin of error cannot be more than 1.5%.

“In the entire world, exit polls do not have a margin of error greater than 3%, we have 1.5%,” he said.

It’s important to note that the votes from the diaspora have not been counted in this poll.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the CEC (Central Election Commission), Valmir Elezi, earlier stated in a media conference that the preliminary results of today’s parliamentary elections in Kosovo would be known “much sooner,” compared to previous occasions.

“We hope that, given that the counting of ballots at polling stations will only be done for the part of the ballot where citizens have selected political parties, it will be faster – because we will not be counting the part of the ballot where citizens have selected candidates for deputies. We hope that in a short time, we will have the preliminary results from the polling stations for political parties,” said Elezi.
