The polling stations for the February 9th elections in Kosovo have officially closed.
Shortly after, the EXIT POLL conducted by journalist Baton Haxhiu released the preliminary results of these elections.
According to the poll, LVV (Self-Determination Movement) came first with 37.45%, PDK (Democratic Party of Kosovo) second with 23.7%, and LDK (Democratic League of Kosovo) third with 20%. AAK (Alliance for the Future of Kosovo) follows with 8%.
Haxhiu stated that the margin of error is no more than 1.5%.
“Worldwide, exit polls do not have a margin of error greater than 3%, ours is 1.5%,” he said.
It is important to note that votes from the diaspora have not been included in this poll.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the CEC (Central Election Commission), Valmir Elezi, during an earlier press conference, stated that the preliminary results of today’s parliamentary elections in Kosovo will be known “much faster” compared to previous times.
“We hope that, considering that the counting of ballots at polling stations will only focus on the part of the ballot where citizens have chosen political parties, the process will be faster—since we won’t be counting the section of the ballot where citizens selected candidates for parliament. We hope to have preliminary results from the polling stations for political parties in a short period,” Elezi said.
