The BBC has highlighted that some of the best Eurovision songs create a bridge between traditional folk elements and modern pop rhythms, praising Albania’s performance in this year’s edition.

The group Shkodra Elektronike opens their song “Zjerm” with the çifteli, a traditional Albanian instrument, which they distort with an electric pulse, evoking their hometown Shkodra — a harmonious religious center where Muslims and Catholics live side by side.

The song’s lyrics incorporate phrases from Arabic and Latin, honoring this tradition with the words “Aman misere”, meaning “have mercy.”

BBC emphasized that, under the slogan “United by Music,” this song is a perfect way to close the Eurovision edition.
