The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza, announced that he is currently in the United States and has met in Washington with Charles McLaughlin, Special Assistant to President Donald Trump, and Mark Fleming, Director of the Office for Western and Central Europe within the U.S. Department of State.

Hamza stated that his visit to Washington is aimed at maintaining and deepening cooperation with the White House and the U.S. government.

During the meeting, the PDK leader said they discussed political developments and the need for Kosovo’s institutions to focus on strengthening alliances with the United States through a clear development agenda.

Hamza emphasized that he assured U.S. officials that, for him as party leader and for PDK, state interest comes above all else.

“I assured U.S. officials that for me and PDK, the state interest is above everything: focusing on economic growth, strategic investments, and fully repairing relations with our international partners. Kosovo is blessed with the support of the American people and government. This support remains vital in our path toward NATO and EU membership,” Hamza wrote.
