PRISHTINA – Bedri Shabani and Muharrem Qerimi appeared in a court hearing at the Basic Court in Prishtina, facing formal charges of espionage.
According to the Special Prosecutor’s Office, Shabani and Qerimi are suspected of collecting and transmitting sensitive information to the Serbian Security Intelligence Agency (BIA). The information allegedly concerned the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK), the Kosovo Police, the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI), and the Kosovo Correctional Service (IPK).
The Special Prosecutor’s Office filed the indictment in February 2025. Bedri Shabani is charged with espionage, while Muharrem Qerimi faces charges of both espionage and illegal possession of weapons.
The trial is ongoing, and the court will determine the next procedural steps.
