The President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, has expressed his full support for the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), describing it as the foundation of Kosovo’s freedom and a source of pride in Albanian national history.
“The KLA is the foundation of Kosovo’s freedom. It is a pride of our national history. No one can erase this legacy of bravery, sacrifice, and heroism,” Begaj wrote in a Facebook post accompanied by photos from the massive protest in Tirana held in support of the former KLA leaders being tried in The Hague.
The protest began this afternoon in Skanderbeg Square, Tirana, with the intonation of the national anthem, as thousands of people gathered to demand justice for Kosovo’s liberators.
