Prishtina, Kosovo — Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) candidate Bekë Berisha has expressed full support for the protest announced by the Organization of Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL-UÇK), scheduled to take place on August 7 at 17:00 in Skënderbeu Square, Prishtina.

Berisha described the protest as a response to the “injustices” being faced by the leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), who are currently being held and tried at The Hague by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.

“I call on all citizens of Prishtina to unite on August 7, at 5:00 PM, in Skënderbeu Square! History cannot be changed,” Berisha stated.

He went further to emphasize his strong nationalist tone, claiming that “all Illyrian legions are ready” for the protest — a symbolic reference aimed at mobilizing support and evoking historical pride.

The protest comes amid rising public discourse and discontent surrounding the trials of former KLA leaders, with veterans’ groups and nationalist politicians demanding their release and the dissolution of what they describe as an unfair and externally imposed judicial process.
