Belgium Welcomes Kosovo’s Defense Attaché in Brussels, Belgian Troops Continue KFOR Contribution

Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, alongside Belgian Minister of Defense, Theo Francken, announced a new step in bilateral cooperation between the two nations during a joint press conference, Gazeta Sinjali reports.

Maqedonci highlighted that Belgium has officially welcomed Kosovo’s defense attaché to Brussels. Belgium also contributes to Kosovo’s security through the deployment of Belgian military troops within KFOR. This development is expected to further strengthen relations between the two countries.

“Infinitely grateful for the support Belgium has offered Kosovo since 2008, and I am extremely enthusiastic about our relations beginning to deepen on Kosovo’s path towards Euro-Atlantic integration,” Maqedonci wrote on Facebook.

Minister Maqedonci also underscored Belgium’s importance as a reliable ally for Kosovo in the Western Balkans, expressing optimism for further strengthening the partnership.

“In the Western Balkans, Belgium will always have Kosovo as its reliable ally. Bedankt België!” Maqedonci concluded.
