Addis Ababa, June 2 – Microsoft founder Bill Gates has announced that approximately $200 billion of his personal fortune will be invested in improving health and education services across Africa over the next two decades, Rks News reports.
Speaking in the Ethiopian capital, Gates emphasized that health and education are essential pillars for the continent’s development.
“By unlocking human potential through health and education, every country in Africa can be on the path to prosperity,” he stated.
Gates also encouraged young Africans to embrace Artificial Intelligence as a tool to strengthen local healthcare systems. His remarks come in line with his long-term philanthropic vision he previously revealed that he intends to donate 99% of his wealth by 2045, at which point the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is expected to wind down operations.
