The veterinary service has placed a bird farm in the village of Shën Vlash in Durres under quarantine after receiving reports of bird deaths. Specialists have taken official samples, which have been sent to the Reference Laboratory – ISUV for analysis.
Regional structures from the General Directorate of AKVMB and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development are currently conducting an epidemiological investigation into the case.
The farm, which houses approximately 227,708 birds in total, is divided across four poultry houses in the Rashbull Administrative Unit and one in Shën Vlash. Damage has been reported in only one of the buildings.
The National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority has informed that a Biosafety Order is in effect. Additionally, 68 poultry farms have been notified to implement biosafety measures in their facilities. The regional veterinary service across the country has been alerted to enhance vigilance and monitor the situation closely. The National Food Authority has also been informed to increase surveillance and take necessary actions.
