Sonja Biserko, the head of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia, has criticized Serbia for its recent measures against Kosovo.

She stated that declaring Kosovo as a “zone of special social protection” or passing legislation aimed at prosecuting Kosovo officials are attempts to cover up the failures of the Serbian president.

Biserko noted that Serbia and the Serbian elite are awaiting the results of the U.S. elections.

“I see this action by Vučić as a reaction to the new reality in Kosovo. Naturally, it should be kept in mind that Serbia or the Serbian elite is waiting for Trump to win the elections in the United States and then to accept some new agreement on partition or something else. Therefore, I see this as a maneuver to cover up the mistakes Vučić has made in the past, leaving Serbs without anything because they are not in institutions, did not participate in elections, and are completely abandoned without any leadership,” she expressed in an interview with KTV.

According to her, the Serbian List is currently out of the game.

“Because the Serbian List is out of the game, especially after the attack in Banjska. This is happening because a part of the nationalists is accusing Vučić of surrendering Kosovo, and thus he wants to cover up this failure with new realities that he has created,” Biserko stated.
