Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi, has raised concerns over institutional obstacles facing the newly elected head of the Albanian National Council in Serbia, Enkel Rexhepi.
Despite being elected through a legal process, Rexhepi has yet to be officially recognized by Serbia’s Ministry for Human Rights. Bislimi described this as a dangerous precedent that threatens the democratic representation of Albanians in the Presheva Valley.
He reaffirmed Kosovo’s unwavering support for improving the lives of Albanians in the region, particularly in Presheva and Sandžak, where their rights are most suppressed. According to Bislimi, Kosovo remains committed to protecting national identity, advancing education in the Albanian language, preserving cultural heritage, and ensuring a better future for the community.
