Acting Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi has announced that the European Union has approved Kosovo’s applications under the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) program.

According to Bislimi, Kosovo will benefit from over €2 million in grants focused on energy and digitalization projects.

“Despite our country facing unfair EU measures, last year we submitted four project applications to the WBIF calls in the fields of energy and digitalization,” Bislimi wrote on Facebook.

He explained that these applications initially received a positive assessment from the evaluation commission and have now been officially approved.

“The total value of the technical assistance grants is over €2 million: more than €800,000 will go to energy projects, while over €1.2 million will be invested in digitalization initiatives,” he added.

This funding marks a significant step for Kosovo’s integration into regional development programs, strengthening its energy sector and digital infrastructure despite political challenges.
