Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development, and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, met today with the European Parliament’s Rapporteur for Kosovo, MEP Riho Terras.
In a statement from the Kosovo government, Bislimi expressed gratitude to the European Parliament for its continuous support for Kosovo, particularly in the visa liberalization process and its journey toward European Union membership.
Bislimi emphasized the importance of treating Kosovo’s December 2022 membership application seriously and fairly, highlighting the progress Kosovo has made in its European integration path. He noted that advancing Kosovo’s EU integration is crucial, and the application should be handled with the seriousness it deserves.
The meeting also focused on challenges and perspectives within the integration process, Kosovo’s potential for further progress and development, its commitment to the Growth Plan, and the ongoing dialogue process with Serbia.
In his remarks, Bislimi also outlined the government’s achievements during this term, including democratic progress, economic growth, and reforms in the EU integration process. He pointed out that the ERA II program had reached a 72% implementation rate, up from 45% in previous administrations, and that the National Program for European Integration saw a reform implementation level of 66.12% in the last year, including many long-standing reforms that were finally achieved during this mandate.
