Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi, stated that the country has evidence of communications from the terrorists responsible for last week’s attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal.

In an interview with Voice of America, Bislimi explained that while further evidence may be difficult to find due to the nature of the attack on a water canal, the available evidence relates to communications that occurred both before and potentially after the attack, requiring a different type of forensic investigation.

“The terrorist attack took place on a water canal, and consequently, it’s challenging to find specific evidence at the crime scene. The evidence we have involves communications before the attack and possibly after it, which require a different kind of forensic analysis,” Bislimi said.

He went on to emphasize that the terrorist attack should not be treated as a test of Kosovo’s ability to demonstrate the criminal’s responsibility or Serbia’s capacity to carry out a “perfect crime.” According to Bislimi, all information Kosovo possesses points directly to Serbia as being behind the attack.

“All the information we have leads to one address, and I think it would be illogical to focus on whether there is enough evidence or not. What matters now is analyzing what the primary objective of this attack was,” Bislimi added.

Following the attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal, the Kosovo Police arrested 11 individuals, two of whom were placed under detention. In addition to these arrests, several operations were conducted in the north of the country, during which a large cache of weapons was seized, including grenades, ammunition, rifles, and military uniforms from Serbia, Russia, the US, and the UK.
