Acting First Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo for European Integration, Development, and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, conducted an official visit to Berlin, where he met with CDU Bundestag member Knut Abraham to discuss Kosovo’s European integration and the progress achieved over the past four years.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi highlighted Kosovo’s accomplishments under the current government, including efforts to increase employment, complete the visa liberalization process, and advance the implementation of the European reform agenda. He emphasized that these initiatives have had a direct impact on citizens’ lives, fostering economic development and expanding international cooperation.
Bislimi underlined that Kosovo’s EU membership application in 2022 was a significant milestone for the country. He pointed to a positive EU report confirming Kosovo’s progress in reform implementation and meeting the conditions required by the European Union, signaling the country’s readiness to advance further toward candidate status.
He urged the EU to continue supporting Kosovo’s efforts and to prioritize the country’s membership application, stressing the importance of full integration into European and international institutions and recognition on the international stage.
Concluding the meeting, Bislimi thanked MP Abraham for his continued support of Kosovo’s European path, highlighting the strong bilateral relations and close cooperation between Kosovo and Germany as essential for advancing the country’s integration processes.
